Webinar: Translating Green Deal ambitions into real change: how can the CAP deliver?

On Jun. 23, we will explore the potential for translating the climate ambition of the European Green Deal into the Common Agricultural Policy. This digital event will focus on climate actions in the agricultural sector and, amongst other things, it will present the good practices identified in the LIFE PlanUp project as well as draw on expertise from practitioners, researchers and civil society. The webinar is co-hosted by MEP Jytte Guteland and several MEPs will be present (more details below).

The EU stands at a historic turning point, as it seeks to forge a sustainable path out of the corona crisis. The European Green Deal provides a blueprint for a Green Recovery and the new Farm to Fork Strategy is a crucial part of this, as it sets out to drive a sustainable transition for EU food and farming.

“A shift to a sustainable food system can bring environmental, health and social benefits, offer economic gains and ensure that the recovery from the crisis puts us onto a sustainable path.” EC Communication on the Farm to Fork Strategy

The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is the EU’s most important tool to deliver this transition. With negotiations ongoing and a major vote on the reform of the CAP later this year, the European Parliament has a major opportunity to put EU farming on the path to a green and resilient future.
